CHAPTER I / NAME, AIMS AND DURATIONtop
ARTICLE 1º
This Association, established with a legal status, is named «CHAMPIONS INTERNATIONAL PORTUGUESE GOLF CLUB», shall operate for an indefinite period of time and be controlled by these statutes.
ARTICLE 2º
The aims of the Club are to:
Promote the game of golf amongst all those who may be interested, irrespective of nationality, gender, age, social or economic standing, religion or race; organise golf bookings, hold events, tournaments, campaigns to attract new players, group and individual tuition, meetings, federate, provide training, manage golf courses or complexes, organise playing handicaps and any other golf-playing related activities.
ARTICLE 3º
The Club headquarters shall be at Rua das Cássias, Edifício Los Arcos, Loja "P", Post Code 8125-466 Vilamoura, Quarteira, in the Loulé council area.
CHAPTER II / MEMBERS top
ARTICLE 4º
Any locally born and/or resident persons including foreigners may become members, irrespective of nationality or gender, provided they meet the requirements laid out in the Club Internal Regulations approved at a General Assembly Meeting.
1- Members shall be obliged to contribute to club funds by paying annual subscriptions, the amount of which shall be established at a General Assembly Meeting and be subject to alteration at any time.
2- Members may be expelled by the Management Committee due to failure to settle subscriptions.
3- Any expulsion of a member shall be decided by a General Assembly of members following a recommendation and subsequent disciplinary measures appropriately carried out by the Management Committee.
ARTICLE 5º
There shall be several types of members: Founding, Honorary, Full and Corporate Members. Their definition, admission terms, rights and obligations are established in the Club Internal Regulations.
CHAPTER III / BODIES AND COMMITTEES top
ARTICLE 6º
The bodies that comprise the Club are the General Assembly Board, Management Committee and Supervisory Board, the members of which being elected at General Assembly Meetings for four-year terms of duty, and may be reappointed for terms of the same duration.
ARTICLE 7º
1- The General Assembly powers and method of operation are in accordance with the applicable legislation, namely Civil Code articles 170 to 179.
2- The General Assembly Board, whose functions are to direct the agenda items and draw up the minutes, shall comprise a chairman, vice-chairman and a secretary.
ARTICLE 8º
1- The Management Committee shall comprise a chairman, vice-chairman, treasurer, secretary and an auxiliary member. The Committee duties are management of club affairs, administration, accounts and disciplinary matters, and it shall meet periodically.
2- Two signatures shall be required to legally bind the club.
ARTICLE 9º
The Supervisory Board shall consist of a chairman, vice-chairman, secretary and a relater, whose responsibilities are to control Management Committee administrative and accounting work; to audit the accounts and financial reports and provide opinions on decisions that imply added expenditure or reductions in club income. Regular meetings shall be held as required.
CHAPTER IV / FINAL PROVISIONS top
ARTICLE 10º
Club income shall include:
a) Dues paid by members as established by the General Assembly;
b) Revenue obtained from activities and services rendered;
c) Funds, donations or legacies that are granted.
d) Subsidies and donations from public and private organisations.
ARTICLE 11º
In the event of any omissions in these statutes, the Club shall act in accordance with the applicable Club Internal Regulation procedures, the approval of, and alteration to, shall be the responsibility of the General Assembly of members.
